Ne kushtet kur te gjitha parashikimet dhe pritshmerite për ekonominë janë te zymta, kryeministri Sali Berisha jep një panoramë optimiste. Duke folur ne mbledhjen e qeverise, ai evidentoi se zhvillimi ekonomik është bazuar ne një model te qëndrueshëm, ndërsa e cilësoi si një marrëzi te radhës idenë e socialisteve për te vendosur taksen progresive. Duke miratuar programin ekonomik fiskal për dy vitet ne vazhdim, Berisha tha se ne te nuk parashikohet rritje taksash, por rritje pagash. Ndërsa me herët, ne një takim për liberalizmin e sektorit energjetik, shefi i qeverise u ndal tek disa tregues qe sipas tij nxjerrin ne pah dinamizmin me te cilën po ecën ekonomia shqiptare. Por pas këtyre deklaratave, ka reaguar edhe lideri socialist. Nëpërmjet internetit, Rama është shprehur se programi socialist mbështetet ne praktikat amerikane dhe se tregu shqiptar është i kapur nga monopolet. "Sa për taksen 'marksiste' marrim shembull nga SHBA, BE dhe tere vendet normale. S'mund te taksohen njësoj rrogëtarët dhe biznesmenët. Ndryshim! Kurse biznesit, qeveria jone do t'i riktheje lirinë e konkurrencës, do t'i heqë referencat e gjobat mafioze! Monopolet janë problemi jo taksat," shprehet Rama. Ne parashikimin e tij te fundit, Fondi Monetar Ndërkombëtar përforcoi me tej pritshmerite negative për ekonominë, duke parashikuar një rritje ekonomike për 2012, vetëm 0.5%. Ky skenar pesimist, bazohet ne përkeqësimin e mjedisit te jashtëm te Shqipërisë me vendet e eurozonës.
