Ne 6 muajt e pare te vitit prodhimi i energjisë elektrike ka pësuar ulje me gati gjysmën e kapacitetit te mundshëm. Sipas shifrave te INSTAT, KESH ka prodhuar energji elektrike 45.1% me pak se vitin e kaluar.
Sipas eksperteve situata e favorshme hidrike ne fillim te vitit, e cila solli dhe përmbytje ne Shkodër, duhet te ishte përdorur me mire nga autoritetet, çka do te sjelle serish import te energjisë. Nga ana tjetër korporata elektroenergjetike shqiptare thekson se burimet janë miremenaxhuar dhe si rezultat i kësaj, liqeni i Fierzes ndodhet ne kuotën e 276 metrave. Një pranvere e thate dhe pritja e shirave ne vjeshte e bëjnë te vështirë parashikimin e situatës hidrike. Përpos faktit se uji nuk është shpërdoruar ne 6 muajt e pare te vitit, ne rastin me te keq, edhe nëse nuk bie shi, do te importojmë energji elektrike. Por nga ana tjetër qeveria shqiptare ndodhet ne një situate tejet te vështirë financiare për te kryer këtë import, pas shkurtimeve ne buxhetin e shtetit qe u kryen ne korrik.
