A Playthrough of the FreeSpace 2 Modification Into the Halls of Valhalla created by the ItHoV Team in 2006 on Insane Difficulty by Novachen.

We were able to made contact with the GVCv Alligator. After we told them everything, we try to reach the 6th Vasudan battlegroup. But of course McCarthy will not let us go so easily, because he is still interested to keep his own plans in secret.
Hints:
Your ship and weapons status are not carried over from the last mission. You fly this mission fully equipped and repaired.
In the first minutes there will be nothing to do. Keep formation with the Alligator and wait until it reaches the waypoint. So read the dialogues carefully.
After Yssm inform the 6th Battlegroup about McCarthy's actions his strike force arrive just in time. Again it consists of many shivan bombers and some Apollos. Your main concern is the safety of the GVD Heryshaf. So intercept and kill all enemy bombs and bombers, maybe you do not even to take out any Apollo, because your wingmates are very capable against them.
Also ignore the Valhalla if it arrives in the mission area, you can not do any difference at this moment anyway. And also it is much more important to protect the Heryshaf against all these SB Tauvris. Do not care about the other Vasudan ships, only the Heryshaf must survive.
This mission can be hard sometimes, not even because of all these bombers, but also because of the beam fire that will be around you. So take care and prioritize bombs over the associated bomber.
After you repelled this attack and force the Valhalla to retreat, you can land in one of the Heryshaf fighterbays to finally end this three-part mission.
