Today I am sharing a simple and easy south Indian snacks recipe of Masala Vada. It is prepared by grinding soaked chana dal with some selected spices which is than deep fried untill crispy. Hope u will like my recipe. Do give this a try and share ur experience in comments.


Ingredients

For Chana Dal Vada:
Chana Dal - 1 cup (soak for 5-6 hours)
Cumin - 1 tsp
Black peppercone - 1 tsp
Cinnamon - 1 inch stick
Dry red chilli - 2
Green Chilli - 2
Ginger - 1 inch
Garlic - 8 to 10 cloves
Curry leaves - 12
Asafoetida - 1/2 tsp
Salt - as per taste
Onion - 1 finely chopped
coriander chopped - 2 tbsp
Oil - for deep frying


For Chutney:
Oil - 1 tbsp
Onion - 1 sliced
Cumin - 1 tsp
Chana dal - 2 tbsp
Tomato - 2
Dry red chilli - 2
Garlic - 6 cloves
Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric - 1/4 tsp
Salt - as per taste

For tempering/tadka:
Oil - 1 tbsp
Mustard - 1 tbsp
Cumin - 1 tsp
Curry leaves - 8
