Amid ongoing Indo-China standoff near the LAC in Tawang sector of Arunachal Pradesh, security personnel are guarding the high terrain areas despite harsh weather. However, to ensure steady supply of essentials to troops stationed at forward posts at the height of 15,550 feet, fleet of yaks is being used to transport fuel and other basic items to the ITBP soldiers.

भारत-चीन सीमा पर दुरूह पर्वतीय इलाके में तैनात सेना और ITBP के जवानों के लिए रशद की आपूर्ति एक बेहद ही मुश्किल भरा काम होता है. अनुकूल मौसम नहीं होने के कारण वहां एयर ड्रॉपिंग भी काफी कठिन होता है. इसके अलावे दुश्मन के नजरों से पोस्ट को बचाए रखने के लिए भी एयर सर्विस का ज्यादा सहारा नहीं लिया जाता है. ऐसे में जंगली जानवर याक जवानों के लिए बेहद कारगर साबित होते हैं.
