भाद्रपद शुक्ल चतुर्थी के दिन पार्थिव गणेश की स्थापना के साथ दस दिवसीय गणेशोत्सव प्रारंभ होता है। इस बार 13 सितंबर को चतुर्थी आ रही है, जिसमें एक अत्यंत दुर्लभ और शुभ योग बन रहा है। यह योग है 'गुरु-स्वाति योग"। वैदिक ज्योतिष में शुभ योगों का महत्वपूर्ण स्थान है। यह योग नक्षत्र, वार, तिथि से मिलकर बनते हैं। जन्मकुंडली में विशेष ग्रहों की युति से शुभ-अशुभ योगों का निर्माण होता है। जब शुभ योगों में कोई कार्य किया जाए तो सिद्धिदायक होता है, जबकि अनजाने में अशुभ योगों में कोई कार्य हो जाए तो उस कार्य के पूर्ण होने में संदेह रहता है।
