Your body needs iron to survive because without it your blood cannot produce hemoglobin – the red pigment in your blood, which carries oxygen to all parts of your body.
So when there is a severe deficiency of iron (and therefore, hemoglobin) in your body, you start feeling fatigued all day, become dizzy, and sometimes even faint.
This is called iron-deficiency anemia. And women suffer from it more than men since they lose a lot of blood during their menstrual cycle every month.
Watch this video to learn all 15 signs of anemia. And remember: if you are showing more than a few of these, you most probably have moderate to severe iron deficiency and need to get a blood test done and consult a doctor.
Caution: Do not take iron supplements without a prescription.
