Investimi prej me shume se 700 milion lekësh, qe u akordua nga qeveria dhe bashkia e Vlorës me rastin e pavarësisë është kthyer serish ne një kantier ndërtimi, për shkak te gropave dhe thyerjes se pllakave. Firma e cila ka fituar tenderin per sistemimin e këtij sheshi, ka kryer punime mjaft te dobëta, ndaj sipas bashkisë, asaj i është rikthyer projekti me qellim përfundimin e tij deri ne fund te muajit mars. Ndërkohë, përveç "Sheshit te Flamurit", edhe bulevardi Vlorë- Skelë, me gjatësi prej 1 km, i cili gjithashtu u shtrua ditët e fundit të 100-vjetorit, është amortizuar ne shume pjese te rrugës.
