Arsimi fillor qe me ligj është bere 6 vjet, do te ketë tekste dhe programe te reja. Ministria e Arsimit ka nisur punën për hartimin e kurikulave. Përfaqësues te grupit te punës dhe drejtues ne ministri tregojnë se prioritet do ti jepet uljes se ngarkesës mësimore dhe eliminimit te përsëritjes se temave ne tekste, problem qe ndeshet edhe ne librat e sotëm.
E nëse sot një nxënës i klasës se gjashte ka rreth 10 tekste, pas një viti kur fillorja te behet 6 vjet, ai do te ketë jo me shume se 5 libra te cilat do te jepen nga një mësues i vetëm. Matematika, gjuha shqipe dhe ajo e huaj do te jene libra me vete, ndërsa lendet e tjera, shoqëroret do te përmblidhen ne një te vetëm, e po ashtu dhe ato te shkencave te natyrës. Ndërsa nxënësve te klasës se pare pas një viti do tu shtohet lënda e informatikës. Ndërkohë hartimi i kurikulave te reja parashikon edhe procesin e unifikimit te programeve mësimore me shtetin e Kosovës. Pas tekstit te abetares nxënësit shqiptare dhe ata kosovare do te kenë te përbashkët edhe lenden e Gjuhës Shqipe dhe Historisë
