Rënia ekonomike për Shqipërinë gjatë muajve të parë të këtij viti është zyrtarizuar edhe nga Instituti i Statistikave, ku përmes një konference për shtyp, INSTAT ka pranuar se rritja e Shqipërisë për tremujorin e parë të këtij viti ka rezultuar në vlerën negative -0.2%. Sipas INSTAT, sektorët të cilët kanë shënuar rënien më të madhe ekonomike janë ai i industrisë dhe i ndërtimit, ku mesatarisht potenciali i tyre vlerësohet të jetë afërsisht 20% më pak se një vit më parë. Rënie kanë shënuar edhe sektorët e tjerë siç janë ai i post telekomunikacionit dhe i transportit. Të vetmet kategori qe kanë shënuar një rritje modeste janë bujqësia dhe grupi i shërbimeve. Për ekspertët, goditja nga kriza e fushave më të rëndësishme të vendit do të sjellë efekte zinxhir të cilat do të prekin si konsumatorin ashtu edhe financat. Është hera e parë që institucioni zyrtar i statistikave në Shqipëri pranon një rritje ekonomike negative, ndërkohë qe vonesa në publikimet që duhet të bëjë INSTAT ka sjelle here pas here debate mes ekspertëve dhe politikanëve.
