One day I will
Relax
Breathe deeply
Exhale and
With that expiration
Let go
Of all that holds me bound
of fear
of prejudice
of small-mindedness
of resentments
of jealousy
of envy
I will divorce from the
Pettiness of this existence
And find nothing to confine me
No possessiveness
No wanting
No need
No longing
And with that one ultimate exhalation
Discover dissolved the barrier
That separates
The lone me from the infinite we
And on that day
As this tight-fisted grasp on life loosens
My hand will slip silently, gracefully, easily
Through the table top
