She drinks her way to sunrise
beneath a full moon sky
what was left undone
stays undone
as she dances through the night
no album left unheard
no pages unturned
with the morning sun she's decided
his love she has earned
every voice that echoed old heartaches
gave permission to start anew
some even understood the impossible
she never thought she could do
but the morning never came
no not this time
wrestled her heart down before
she gave into the lie
voice lifted up to the heavens
screams her heart til angels hear
if it's sad enough to make them cry
maybe they'll whisper in God's ear
echoing words she prays in secret
felt through every song she knows
funny how they call her tenacious
when she is just someone who doesn't
know how to let go.
