When you are running any kind of major city, you have to understand that without a lot of plants, trees, flowers and greenery you are going to be looking at a population who is depressed and stressed out.

It does not matter how strong of mind you think you have, without trees and flowers you will begin to succumb to the sadness of the concrete jungle.

Okay, by my own admission that sounded a little more poetic than I would've liked to but nonetheless, Mississauga has been ignoring horticulture all the way through its development. Southern Ontario is the best growing land on earth, or at least it used to be. Instead of keeping the treasure that we have, or rather had, being the ability to grow everything that we need to feed our country, we are simply building houses and one-story warehouses on every farm around town.

The only solution that we have now if we truly want to start thinking futuristically is to have Mississauga become the horticultural center of all of North America. This can only be done with vertical farming citywide.

The best idea would be to ensure that we have farms built into 500 foot tall towers.

Vertical farming will solve the future food growth problems that will plague our future.

I am not a short-sighted man. I see the problems that we are going to face in the future, and I want to start solving the future's problems NOW.
