I worked in the private sector far a long time, and the private sector expects results. If you are management and you have an expense account, abusing it gets you fired.

Abusing your expense account as a city counselor gets you...scolded by a a talk radio host for one day and then....NOTHING happens.

City counsel of Mississauga spent more than a quarter of a million dollars on fax machines, phone calls, gas and other stuff that you and I have to buy ourselves.

I am SLASHING expense accounts, and all accounts are going to be public information. Yeah, some counselors are going to hate what I am planning to do, but I am up for the heat and dirty looks I'll get.
