Glasgow headlines 20 April: Petershill Road residents return home after evacuation

Views 1

After four days the residents of Petershill Road have been allowed to return home after bomb squads evacuated the area on 17 April.

A suspicious device found in the Springburn neighbourhood was reported to Police which led them to take such action.

Royal Navy Explosive Ordnance personnel removed the device and a 50-year-old man has been arrested in connection.

Next, a man who drove into a woman in the Pollock area in 2020, which caused her to endure a serious spinal injury, has been jailed for almost four years.

25-year-old Alix McIntyre targeted Jacqueline Prentice following a dispute, the judge heard.

McIntyre did receive a reduced sentence as it was a first time offence.

And in other news, Glasgow native Lorraine Kelly has called out infuriating scammers using her photo to promote weight loss products.

The 62-year-old recently said on Good Morning Britain that her image had been used to endorse diet pills without her consent.
