A man has been convicted of murder after he stabbed a man to death during an alcohol fuelled rage. The court heard how Mohammed Adam murdered his victim after trying to calm down an argument between him and staff at a shisha lounge.

One of Britain's top young scientists has been diagnosed with a rare terminal heart cancer. Kirsty Smitten - set to potentially save tens of millions of lives with her new antibiotic medicine - has been given just months to live. Her cancer is rare and only two people are diagnosed with it a year in the UK.

New figures show that nearly a quarter of patients were unsatisfied with their care at the Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Trust. The report shows 77.3% of patients with a disability who received care last year were happy with their treatment – below the average across the country of 82.5%.
