आईपीएल 14 का दूसरा चरण शुरू हो गया है जिसमें चेन्नई सुपर किंग्स के कप्तान महेंद्र सिंह धोनी ने टॉस जीत कर पहले बल्लेबाज़ी का फैसला किया। सभी को उम्मीद थी की आज चेन्नई धमाकेदार शुरुवात करेगा मगर मुंबई ने चेन्नई के बल्लेबाज़ों को टिकने का मौका ही नहीं दिया और लगातार एक के बाद एक विकेट्स अपने नाम किये। चेन्नई सुपर किंग्स ने पहले पॉवरप्ले में अपने सभी मुख्य खिलाड़ियों का विकेट गवाया तब ऐसा लग रहा था की शायद अब चेन्नई वापसी नहीं कर पायेगा मगर में चेन्नई के लिए हीरो साबित हुए ऋतुराज गायकवाड जिन्होंने 59 गेंदों में नाबाद 88 रनों की पारी खेली।
