The Election Commission has given a clean chit to the CISF in the firing case that took place in Cooch Behar during the fourth phase of the assembly elections in West Bengal. The Commission has described it as a step taken in self-defense. The Election Commission has said that open fire was necessary for voters standing in line at the polling station, other polling personnel and CISF personnel to save themselves.

पश्चिम बंगाल में विधानसभा चुनाव के चौथे चरण के दौरान कूचबिहार में हुई फायरिंग मामले में चुनाव आयोग ने सीआईएसएफ को क्लीन चिट दे दी है. आयोग ने इसे आत्मरक्षा में उठाया गया कदम बताया है. चुनाव आयोग ने कहा है कि मतदान केंद्र पर लाइन में खड़े मतदाताओं, अन्य मतदान कर्मियों और खुद की जान बचाने के लिए सीआईएसएफ के कर्मियों को ओपन फायर जरूरी हो गया था
