Marcus Smart was interviewed postgame after the Celtics' 111-94 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder. Smart helped lead the Celtics to a late comeback with some solid defensive energy.
Smart talked about the trade rumors that surfaced involving him before the NBA trade deadline. "You prepare for the worst, and hope for the best," said Smart. "I've been here seven years. My name is mentioned in trade talks every year... But I wasn't really concerned."
The combo guard also talked about new teammate Luke Kornet's performance. He said that it's nice to have "fresh legs and new guys in the lineup." Kornet and Moe Wagner were recently acquired in a trade that sent Daniel Theis and Javonte Green to the Chicago Bulls.
Smart also mentioned the fact that fans are back at TD Garden starting with the Celtics' next home game vs the New Orleans Pelicans. "We have our fans coming in. It's time for us to play Celtics basketball and make this run."
