Mamata Banerjee led West Bengal government has announced Telugu as an official language of the state. Also Mamata government has recognised the Telugu community living in the state as minorities and this will give the Telugu people a huge boost.

పశ్చిమ బెంగాల్ ముఖ్యమంత్రి మమతా బెనర్జీ నేతృత్వంలో డిసెంబర్ 23న సమావేశమైన రాష్ట్ర మంత్రి మండలి తెలుగు భాషకు అధికార భాష హోదా కల్పించే ప్రతిపాదనకు ఆమోదం తెలిపింది. అలాగే తెలుగు ప్రజలను భాషాపరమైన మైనారిటీలుగా గుర్తించే ప్రతిపాదనను కూడా కేబినెట్ ఆమోదించింది.
