Tammy has special significance in Karva Chauth fast. On this day, Suhagin women also put a sieve along with the contents of the pooja in the puja plate. On the night of Karva Chauth, Suhagin women complete their fast by seeing the moon and husband from the sieve. After the moon comes out, women first look at the moon with a lamp in the sieve and then look at their husband. After this, the husband completes the fast by giving water to his wife.

करवा चौथ के व्रत में छलनी का खास महत्व है। इस दिन पूजा की थाली में सुहागिन महिलाएं पूजा की सामग्री के साथ छलनी भी रखती है। करवा चौथ की रात को सुहागिन महिलाएं चाँद और पति को छलनी में से देखकर अपना व्रत पूरा करती हैं। चाँद निकलने के बाद महिलाएं छलनी में पहले दीपक रख चांद को देखती हैं और फिर अपने पति को देखती हैं। इसके बाद पति अपनी पत्नी को पानी पिलाकर व्रत पूरा करवाते हैं।
