At 12:10 in the afternoon, this eclipse will be at its peak where the moon will cover about 99 percent of the sun. However it will only be for a few seconds. It can be harmful to see this solar eclipse with the eye, so do not look at the solar eclipse directly without adopting full protection. Use only the international ISO 12312-2 standard specs to directly view the solar eclipse. UV rays emanating from the sun can cause permanent blindness.

सूर्यग्रहण रविवार को सुबह 9:15 से शुरू होकर दिन में 3:04 तक रहेगा। इस सूर्य ग्रहण की अवधि लगभग 6 घंटे की रहेगी। दोपहर 12:10 पर ये ग्रहण अपने शिखर पर होगा जहां चन्द्रमा सूर्य के लगभग 99 प्रतिशत भाग को ढक लेगा। हालांकि ये सिर्फ कुछ ही सेकंड के लिए होगा। इस सूर्य ग्रहण को नग्न आंखों से देखना हानिकारक हो सकता है इसलिए बिना पूरी सुरक्षा अपनाए सूर्य ग्रहण को सीधे न देखें। सूर्य ग्रहण को सीधे देखने के लिए केवल अंतरराष्ट्रीय आईएसओ 12312-2 मानक वाले चश्मों का ही प्रयोग करें। सूर्य से निकलने वाली यूवी किरणें स्थायी अंधेपन का कारण बन सकती हैं।लोगों ने इस सूर्य ग्रहण को मायन कैलंडर से जोड़कर इस दिन को दुनिया का अंतिम दिन बताना शुरू कर दिया है। मायन कैलंडर के अनुसार, दुनिया 21 दिसंबर 2012 को खत्म होनी थी। अब 21 जून 2020 को वही दिन होने की अफवाहें उड़ाई जा रही हैं, जिन्हें नासा ने पूरे तरीके से नकार दिया है।
