Good morning. It's Ipdong, the start of winter according to the traditional calendar, and this year's Ipdong is the coldest Ipdong morning in 13 years. Cold wave advisories are in place for inland regions, including the Chungcheong-do and Gyeongsang-do Provinces as well as Sejong City.
Seoul saw its first ice of the season, which came 9 days later than average. But the cold snap will be short-lived. It should feel a bit milder as the day goes on. Those of you who plan on heading out to enjoy the last glimpse of the autumn leaves will appreciate the pleasant weather conditions on Saturday, but rain is in store on Sunday afternoon.
Afternoon highs will be similar to yesterday for upper regions but a tad cooler for the rest of the country.
Expect a big drop in readings on the day of Suneung, the college entrance exam day next Thursday then next Friday morning is shaping up to be even colder.
