Hospitals were evacuated in parts of South Carolina on Monday, September 10, as the state prepared for Hurricane Florence.

Waccamaw Community Hospital, Georgetown Memorial Hospital and Health Rehabilitation Hospital were among the hospitals being evacuated ahead of the Category 4 storm, Myrtle Beach Online reported. Details on where the patients would be transferred to were yet to be announced, the report said.

Hundreds of thousands of people were forced to leave their homes after the governors of Virginia, North and South Carolina issued mandatory evacuation orders as the storm neared the US East Coast, ABC Local 10 News reported.
