Hundreds Evacuated, Several Injured, in South Germany Refinery Blast

Some 1,800 residents were temporarily evacuated from near the town of Vohburg, in Bavaria, early on Saturday, September 1, when a fire broke out at an oil refinery, causing an explosion.

Deutsche Welle said several people were hospitalized.

The fire was under control by around midday, police said.
