A powerful magnitude-6.7 earthquake rocked Japan’s northern island of Hokkaido on September 6, causing landslides and leading to several deaths.
The Japan Times said that at least seven people were confirmed to have been killed, with at least 32 more missing. Power was cut off in several areas and train services were also disrupted.
The quake was strongly felt in the local capital, Sapporo. This video shows a long crack in a street in the center of the city.
Local sources said the death toll was likely to rise as rescue services searched houses buried by landslides. Credit: 空夢 via Storyful
