New drone footage has revealed the extent of a massive landslip triggered by the November 2016 Kaikoura earthquake in New Zealand.
The video, released by GNS Science on May 12, provides a unique view of the former hill now known as Seafront Slip. According to GNS Science, 17 to 20 million cubic metres of the hillside were displaced, exposing one kilometre of the slip face in Kaikoura.
Two people were killed in the November 14 quake, and roads to Kaikoura were impassible due to the damage.
