Firecrews managed to bring a blaze in Wollemi National Park in the Hunter Valley under control overnight on February 14. However, there are fears the bushfire could continue burning for another month.
A fire that burnt through bushland in the national park and Putty State Forest, near Singleton, on Wednesday continued to pose a risk for properties, ABC reported. While weather conditions have eased and warnings were downgraded, an RFS spokesperson said a lack of rain meant the fire could burn for up to a month.
