A brush fire in Ventura County, California, exploded to 10,000 acres on the night of December 5, causing power outages and forcing mass evacuations.
The fire was first reported at around 6.25 pm and was described to be moving at a “rapid rate of a spread”, according to the Ventura County Fire Department. Road closures were reported and 436 homes were evacuated under a mandatory order at the time of writing.
