The Indian Navy has sent ships, supplies and aid to Sri Lanka after monsoon rains brought devastating flooding to the southwest corner of the island nation.
This footage, uploaded on May 29, is described as showing Indian Navy members saving dogs and delivering supplies to stranded people in Kalutara, which is located south of Sri Lanka’s capital, Colombo. The Indian Navy was dispatched on 27 May, according to Firstpost, with over 1,300 water purification kits, 3,000 water bottles and other assorted supplies.
Over 170 Sri Lankans have died in one of the worst incidents of flooding in Sri Lanka since 2003, The Indian Express reported, while over 100 are still reported missing.
