An organizer with Students For Life of America, a student and youth anti-abortion group, confronted a Fresno State professor and his students on May 2, accusing them of erasing pro-life messages from campus sidewalks.

The anti-abortion organizer, named Bernadette, in the video films the students erasing the messages and later confronts their professor. On May 11, Alliance Defending Freedom filed a lawsuit against the professor, named as Dr. Gregory Thatcher, saying he infringed on the student group’s right of free speech.

In a press release to Fox 26 News and as heard in the video, the organizers said the group had permission from the school for the chalk messages to be written on the sidewalk. The chalk messages “expressed support for pregnant and parenting students and presented information about the development of an unborn child,” according to Fox 26. This video was released on May 11.
