A number of events were held in Brussels on March 22 to mark the first anniversary of a series of bomb attacks on the city’s metro and airport that left 32 dead and hundreds wounded.
While there was a minute’s silence observed at the city’s Grand Place and at the airport, the city’s metro operator urged a “minute of noise” to coincide with the moment of the metro bombing. This video shows a message from the Brussels public transport authority calling for a “minute of noise”, and travelers applauding.
