Nepal, Feb 06 (ANI): The families of the Madhesis, who lost their lives while protesting for their rights in the newly formed constitution, have not received any compensation from the Nepal government. In a bid to support the victim families, Madeshi Sanghi Morcha has organized an event to collect funds and other essential commodities. In the past six months, around 60 people have lost their lives in the Southern Terai region of Nepal while protesting for equal representation in the newly formed constitution promulgated in September last year. The Madhesis have been protesting for the past six months demanding redrawing of the boundaries of the provinces in Terai region, fixing of electoral constituencies on the basis of population and proportional representation. The prolonged agitation in the Himalyan nation has led to an economic crisis and talks between the protesting parties and the government have failed to address the concerns of the Madhesis.
