Nepal, June 01 (ANI): The Madhesi struggle for recognition of their basic rights since the adoption of the new Nepali constitution last year has not yet brought any positive result. Several rounds of talks between the government and the Madeshis so far have not proven to be fruitful. To press the government into readdressing their demands, the Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha will commence a hunger strike in Kathmandu from June 7. The Madhesis' demands include demarcation of provinces, fixing of electoral constituencies on the basis of population and proportional representation in the newly adopted constitution.
