Shqiptarët e Luginës së Preshevës nuk do të kenë asnjë përfaqësues në parlamentin e ri të Serbisë që pritet të konstituohet së shpejti. Në Kuvendin e ri serb do të jenë katër parti të pakicave, por asnjë deputet shqiptar. Lista e shqiptarëve të Luginës së Preshevës ka arritur të mbledhë vetëm 0,30 për qind të votave, që nuk është mjaftueshëm ta kalojnë pragun prej 0,40 për qind. Deputeti i vetëm shqiptar në përbërjen e fundit parlamentare në Serbi, ishte Riza Halimi i Partisë për Veprim Demokratik. Ndërsa, kryetari i PDSH-së, Ragmi Mustafa, i cili apeloi tek shqiptarët e Serbisë për bojkot të zgjedhjeve parlamentare dhe presidenciale, është shprehur se shqiptarët mbetën pa deputet për shkak të dobësimit së partisë së Halimit. Mustafa ka konfirmuar se partia e tij i ka fituar bindshëm zgjedhjet lokale në Preshevë dhe se do të konstituojë një kuvend komunal krejtësisht shqiptar. Rezultatet e votimeve parlamentare në Serbi kanë nxjerrë fitues me 73 vende në Kuvend partinë Liberal Demokrate të Cedomir Jovanoviç dhe pas saj Partinë Demokratike të Tadiç me 67 vende dhe më pas vijnë socialistët e Daçiç.

Presevo Valley Albanians will not have any representative in the new Serbian parliament expected to convene soon. Mustafa has confirmed that his party has convincingly won local elections in Presevo and that would constitute a purely Albanian municipal assembly.
