Italian screen legend Sophia Loren was honored Wednesday evening (November 12) in Hollywood at the American Film Institutes AFI Fest.

The 80-year-old actress, who was joined on the red carpet by family and friends, was recognized for the 50th anniversary of her Academy Award nominated role in the iconic film, "Marriage Italian Style."

SOUNDBITE Sophia Loren, saying (English):

"It was really a wonderful moment of our lives. It was really a film that was done with all our hearts and it still is. Nowadays, when they show it, it's a film that you can see today like it was done yesterday."

Loren added that she doesn't she much difference between movie making of yesterday and today.

The two-time Oscar winner currently has a book out, "Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow - My Life."
