Theresa Ann Moore - Deep Purple

When the sky turns deep purple
and the piercing sounds of scorn
seep into much sought after peace;
thoughts of the future are stillborn

In the city there are grieving mothers
and fathers trying desperately
to remember what dreams were for...
as shades of gray fade into transparency

The harshness of reality ends a child's life
Spirit and faith are tested by tragedy...
The winds of sorrow rip and tear
at bending branches of the family tree

A reminder of a child destined to achieve
is carved in stone; warmed with sunshine
and cooled by gentle rain… resistant to storms
A soul free of conflict, in the land of the divine
