The clouds which of late have all but forgotten
What rain is and where it comes from
Spit some strange mixture or form of precipitated pollution
On our freshly washed and clean car
After my wife had just spent all afternoon
Dispensing the month old dried and toasted road grime
From the fenders, windows and hood of our once perfectly white car
Water is in such short supply and the pump doesn’t work well without it
So she decided to end our self imposed moratorium
On the indiscriminate use of the costly municipally supplied H2O
And give the birds a clean target
The bill isn’t even yet in the mail…
And the car is already covered in chunks of acid rain
