General Motors Company (NYSE: GM) reported fiscal third-quarter earnings fell to $757 million, or 45 cents a share on revenue of $39 billion, compared with $1.48 billion, or 89 cents a share, on revenue of $37.58 billion in the year-ago quarter. Excluding one-time items, the automaker earned 96 cents per share.
Wall Street had expected GM to issue earnings excluding items of 94 cents a share on revenue of $39.49, according to analysts polled by Reuters.
On Wednesday, shares of GM rose 2.83 percent to $37.08 in morning trading.
Comcast Corporation (NASDAQ: CMCSA) posted fiscal third-quarter earnings of $1.73 billion, or 65 cents a share, compared with $2.11 billion, or 78 cents per share, a year ago. Although earnings per share came in above analysts’ estimates, revenue came in below Wall Street expectations and fell 2.4 percent to $16.15 billion.
Shares of Comcast fell 1.49 percent to $47.00 on Wednesday.Â
