A 'Jesus endorsed' mayoral contender comes in last place.
A mayoral candidate in North Miami, Anna Pierre, opted for a religious endorsement - a strategy that didn't work out too well.
She stated “Yes, Jesus endorsed me! I'm not nuts, if I'm a freak and nuts for Jesus, let it be! Let the world know that Jesus is it and when you have Jesus on your side you can go on.”
Pierre, who is a registered nurse, posted a picture of her flier on Facebook with a photo of the Christian savior. Despite her crusade voters apparently didn’t go for it.
In the May 14th election, Pierre came in last place out of 7 candidates, obtaining only 56 votes in total, less than 1%.
A little over the month before the polls heated up, Pierre claimed that an unidentified person placed voodoo decorations and artifacts directly outside of her campaign office. She initially believed one of her competitors was behind the prank.
Pierre also said that on top of finding pin riddled dolls and candles near her work, she also encountered stolen signs and hateful phone calls.
