Seth MacFarlane has been selected to host the 85th annual Academy Awards. Producers from the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences made the announcement on Monday (October 01). It will be the "Family Guy" creator's first time on the Oscar stage. The awards will be handed out on February 24.
The man who Lindsay Lohan accused of assault has been released and his arrest voided, after police said the charge could not be substantiated. Lohan had claimed the man grabbed her in her New York hotel room in an argument over cellphone images. In other Lohan news, her TV movie "Liz and Dick" has been given an air date: the movie will debut on U.S. cable channel Lifetime on November 25.
Pussy Riot members were back in a Russian court Monday for an appeal hearing, however a judge delayed its start after one of the three members said she decided to dismiss her lawyer and seek new representation. The hearing has been rescheduled for October 10.
Adele fans gear up - the singer has announced that she recorded the theme song for the new James Bond film, "Skyfall." She tweeted a picture the cover page for the song, which was credited to her. Adele will debut the song on her official website on Thursday (October 04). "Skyfall" hits theaters in early November.
Finally, Drew Barrymore has given birth to a baby girl, named Olive. The news came Monday, even though she was born on September 26. It's the first child for the actress and her husband, Will Kopelman.
