French tourists die in crash

At least three people died when this bus packed with French tourists collided with a train in the Dominican Republic.

Authorities say the casualties were two men and a woman, all French nationals.

Fifteen others have been injured.

SOUNDBITE: THOMAS CEDRIC, INJURED TOURIST, SAYING (English):

"My shoulder is broken and my forearm is also broken so it's a little tiring but the team from this clinic is very good and everything is okay."

The accident, involving a train laden with sugar cane, happened at a level crossing in the city of Higuey.

The Dominican Republic's tourism minister is promising a full inquiry into the cause.
