Indra Gandhi Planetarium is among one of the most visited tourist sites in Patna and is also considered as one of the largest and best planetariums in Asia. This Planetarium was constructed through Bihar Council on Science & Technology, was conceptualized in 1989 by Bihar CM Shree Satyendra Narain Sinha and was inaugurated by Shree Laloo Prasad, the then Chief Minister of Bihar, on March 21, 1993. The Indra Gandhi Planetarium is also called Patna Planetarium, and locally 'Taramandal'. The Patna Planetarium is located at Bailey Road near the ‘Income Tax Golambar' in Patna. One can easily reach the Planetarium, as its is just 8 km from Patna Airport and one and a half km from the Patna Railway Station
