River Ganges is of great importance in Bihar and to promote tourism in the River Ganges, the Tourism department on February 03 launched a Floating River Boat in Patna. The floating boat is divided into two floors and has a restaurant, conference hall and VIP lounge with a capacity of 30 people. The restaurant has a seating capacity of 48 people. Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav said, “M.V. Vihar has been started for a better service to the people of Patna. There’s a lot of scope for tourism in Bihar. The people of Patna and Bihar can enjoy birthday or other celebrations on this boat. The state has a greater tourist footfall than Goa. Be it for ‘Pind Daan’ or those visiting the state from many South Asian Buddhist countries. Challenge is to make sure tourists spend more time in the state.”
