STORY: Hundreds of Christians attended the annual Catholic Palm Sunday procession in Jerusalem on Sunday, marking the beginning of festivities of the holy week ahead of Easter.
Palestinian Christians, worshippers, pilgrims and tourists, accompanied by scouts and clergymen, marched down the Mount of Olives while holding palm branches and chanting hymns.
It ended at St. Anne's Church within the Old City's walls.
Earlier on Sunday, scores of Christians attended mass in Jerusalem's Holy Sepulchre Church, revered as the burial site of Jesus.
Palm Sunday is a holy day recalling Jesus' solemn entry into Jerusalem before his arrest and crucifixion.
