Britain's Queen Elizabeth II awarded President Shimon Peres honorary knighthood on Thursday in an official ceremony in Buckingham Palace in London. Following the ceremony Peres held a private meeting with the queen, where they reportedly discussed Middle Eastern politics, Iran's nuclear program and abducted IDF soldier Gilad Shalit. Peres also met with Prince Charles on Thursday, and he asked for his help in securing access for the International Red Cross to the abducted IDF soldier. 11/21/08
