President Shimon Peres announced on Wednesday his plans to join Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah at a UN interfaith conference this month, raising the possibility of an unprecedented public meeting between the two heads of state. Peres, a Nobel Peace laureate, has recently spoken favorably of a Saudi-sponsored plan that calls for a comprehensive peace between Israel and the Arab world in exchange for an Israeli withdrawal from most of the lands captured in the 1967 Six-Day war. 11/06/08
