Israel's Supreme Court of Justice on Tuesday ruled to uphold a plea bargain and drops rape charges against former President Moshe Katsav who will face charges of sexual harrassment against former female employees but no prison time. Attorney Zion Amir, a member of Katsav's defense team, said that despite the fact that the plea bargain was upheld, it was still a sad day for the former president, who could still be saddled with moral turpitude. Representatives of the Naamat women's organization said the court ruling could deter women who were sexually harrassed from filing a complaint.02/26/08
