Rescue workers continue to search for survivors on Tuesday after a residential building collapsed in New Delhi. The five-story building caved in on Monday, killing at least 60 people and injuring 78 others.

Dozens are still trapped in the rubble, and their family members are anxiously waiting for news of their loved ones.

[Jamuna, Family Trapped in the Rubble]:
"I have no information about my husband and three children. All four of them—my husband and children—were in the house and I had gone to work."

[Mahadev Havaldar, Family Trapped in the Rubble]:
"My daughter, my son-in-law and other relatives were there, including my granddaughter. There is no information about them."

Fire brigades and ambulances had struggled to reach the site, their movement hindered by the narrow winding lanes of the residential area.

Local authorities say the building collapsed because its basement flooded for days after heavy monsoon rains.

Delhi’s chief minister blamed the building's faulty construction for the collapse and said the government will order a probe into it.

Many Indian buildings do not confirm to safety or zoning regulations, with owners building additional floors or structures without approval.
