Today, Monday 26th July, Dromore Education & Community Partnership has been named as a finalist in the 'Best Sports Project Category' of the National Lottery Awards 2010. The awards recognise the amazing work being done by lottery-funded groups across the UK. The aim is to highlight the significant difference that projects - both large and small - make to communities everywhere and to celebrate the achievements of the people behind them.
The children of Dromore, Northern Ireland had long been complaining about the lack of sporting facilities in their area. Then in February 2008, a brand new sports complex opened its doors, providing them, and the wider community, with a brand new sports hall, gyms and an extensive program of activities.
